Palestine Talks - Special Edition

News from Gaza

Guest speaker: Akram Al Satarri,
translator, media correspondent, political commentator

Palestinians have staged weekly protests near the Gaza fence with Israel as part of the Great March of Return protests since March 2018. The demonstrators are calling for the lifting of an Israeli-Egyptian blockade imposed on Gaza since 2007 and for the right to return to their ancestral homes in Israel, as stipulated in UN Resolution 194. In the year since the weekly protests started, some 200 Palestinians have been killed, and more than 6,300 have been injured by Israeli live fire.

In commemoration of Land Day and the one-year anniversary of the start of the Great Return March protests in the Gaza Strip, AFOPA will host a special online meeting to hear from correspondent and translator, Akram Al Satarri, about the current situation in Gaza, the year-long protest actions and what it means for the future.

You may join this meeting in person (Adelaide) or online (connection details will be forwarded).
