Women in Black Vigil for Palestine
Wednesday 9 July 5-6pm at Parliament House, Adelaide (on Kaurna Yerta)
With the situation in Palestine and the surrounding region shifting, expanding, and worsening this week, it is more important than ever that we stand as a constant presence for peace and an end to the genocide of the Palestinian people. Bring your keffiyehs and flags, bring candles (fake flame only!), bring like-minded friends, and stand with us. Wear black. No speeches or drums here, this is a silent vigil - our power is in our presence.
It is NAIDOC Week, so please feel free to bring appropriate flags, shirts and accessories to show solidarity to our Indigenous/First Nations communities as well as we support an era of Truth Telling - oppression and genocide are oppression and genocide no matter where the violence occurs, when, or against whom.
#FreePalestine #vigil #peace #CeaseFireForever
All gender identities welcome (keeping in mind that Women in Black is a women-led, feminist organization). No antisemitic, pro-Nazi, racist, Islamophobic, anti-Blak, or violent rhetoric will be tolerated at our events.
